Winners Announced in Science & Engineering Fair at Ivy Tech

Bloomington, Indiana -Twenty-three students participated in the South-Central Indiana Regional Science & Engineering Fair hosted by Ivy Tech Community College-Bloomington today. The fair featured projects from regional schools including Northside Middle School-Columbus, Greensburg Community High School-Greensburg as well as Lora L. Batchelor Middle School and Lighthouse Christian Academy-Bloomington.
A panel of 16 judges (listed below) comprised of representatives from Ivy Tech, Indiana University, the Science Education Foundation of Indiana and the United States Navy awarded the following:

James Smith, Dean of Academic Affairs for Ivy Tech Community College – Bloomington, said that the college’s community partners were really interested in this year’s science fair. “Our community partners are invested not only in the life science economy in South Central Indiana; they are also invested in the youth of our community. These students are instrumental to the future of tomorrow’s life sciences.”
Three winners in the Junior Division and five winners in the Senior Division will advance to the State Science & Engineering Fair. Two of the Senior Division finalists will also qualify to compete on an international level.
The South-Central Indiana Regional Science & Engineering Fair was supported by Baxter Pharmaceutical Solutions, the Bloomington Life Sciences Partnership, the City of Bloomington, Cook, Inc. and Indiana University.
