A Holiday Walk will be held around the Monroe County Courthouse square on Dec. 13 to raise funds for Jill's House, Inc. Jill's House is a residence planned for patients and the families of patients being treated at the Indiana University Radio Radiotherapy Center. It's named in honor of late IU student Jill Behrman. The event is sponsored by WGCL AM-1370 and will start at 6 p.m. from the main south entrance of Fountain Square Mall, where the Bloomington Brass Quintet will be performing holiday tunes. Participants will carry glow lights during the walk. At 7 p.m. at the southeast corner of the courthouse, auctioneer Jimmie Dean Coffey will draw gift certificates donated by local merchants and then auction off a large children's playhouse donated by a construction class at Ivy Tech. The minimum allowable bid will be $1,000. Tickets for the auction are $10 and can be bought at the Jill's House office at Fountain Square suite 006A, as well as Fountain Square Mall, Bloomington Sandwich Co., Book Corner, Howard's Bookstore, J.R. Stallsmith, Opie Taylor's, Vance Music Center and Williams Jewelry. Gift certificates for the drawing have been donated by Trojan Horse, Howard's Bookstore, Banana Junction, J.R. Stallsmith, Bloomington Sandwich Co., Williams Jewelry, Book Corner, Vance Music Center and Jazzercise.
