![]() Ivy Tech enrollment breaks 5,000 markIvy Tech Community College By Steve Hinnefeld 331-4374 | shinnefeld@heraldt.com Enrollment at Ivy Tech-Bloomington topped 5,000 this week, according to an announcement from Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana headquarters. The Bloomington campus had 5,018 students enrolled as of Tuesday, the college said. That’s almost 10 percent growth since the fall of 2006, when enrollment was 4,570. The campus will continue to sign up students until Saturday and will announce its final fall 2007 enrollment figures next week. Ivy Tech-Bloomington had just 2,663 students when it moved to its current campus west of the city in the fall of 2002. “Since 2002 we have nearly doubled our campus population, and we are serving a student head count that was not predicted until 2011,” Ivy Tech-Bloomington Chancellor John Whikehart said in a statement. Statewide, Ivy Tech reported double-digit growth and record enrollment this year. Some 77,013 students were enrolled on Ivy Tech’s 23 campuses, according to a news release from the college — up 10.3 percent from a year ago. |
