![]() Veterans center works with collaboratorsFrom H-T Reports CRANE — The Crane Learning and Employment Center for Veterans with Disabilities formalized its pilot program by signing a memorandum of understanding with several Indiana agencies involved in the program, which helps disabled Hoosier veterans get education and on-the-job training at the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center. The center received a $400,000 grant from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development and a matching grant from the Lilly Endowment. Program director Jim Schonberger said the memorandum of understanding spells out the roles and responsibilities that make up the center, which includes collaboration from Crane, Indiana Workforce Development, U.S. Veterans Benefits Administration, Vincennes University and Ivy Tech Community College. The program has its first five veterans enrolled and working toward college degrees. The goal is to have at least 20 people enrolled before October. To find out more, call 812-863-5004.
