> Biomanufacturing and Medical Device Manufacturing Technician Certificate Program

Free training in biotechnology available!

The Biomanufacturing and Medical Device Manufacturing Technician Certificate Program (BMTC) is a program that covers the basics of biotechnology manufacturing industry principles and introduces students to the local biotechnology industry.  After the first half of the program learning the basics, participants can choose to focus the remaining half of the program on either biomanufacturing or medical device manufacturing industry specifics, earning a certificate in the area of their focus.  In addition to the certificate, successful completion of the program earns the participant 3 college credits.

The classes will be taught mostly by individuals working in Baxter, Cook Pharmica, Cook Inc, Bioconvergence, Boston Scientific and Cook Urological, so participants will have a chance not only to find out about the biotechnology industry from those who are part of it, but also make some excellent contacts in the local industries!  The 16 class meetings (3 hours each) are hands on and lots of fun!

This training is currently being paid for by a SSI grant to bridge the gap between an unemployed workforce and the growing biotechnology industry that needs trained employees.  Therefore, there are some requirements to take advantage of this free program:

  • Participants must currently be un- or underemployed residents of Indiana.
  • Participants must be interested in obtaining a position in the life science field in the next 3 to 6 months.

Our next class will be starting soon – please look at the course schedule link for more details.
