Loan Disbursement Procedures

Loan funds for first time borrowers cannot be released to the student until 30 days after the start of the semester.

  1. Funds are usually received by the college one week after the disbursement date indicated by the bank.
If you are attending class and making reasonable progress, the funds will be mailed as soon as they are received by the college.
You will receive, by mail, any balance due to you approximately one week after the college receives the funds.

  2. Students needing to check the estimated disbursement dates of their loans should check with their lender. If you call the school, you will be referred to your lender.

  3. Loan eligibility will be adjusted if the student drops classes or fails to attend classes.

  4. It is the policy of Ivy Tech Community College to apply the first available funds received to a student’s account.
If loan funds are received before other federal or state aid, the loan will be used to cover any amount owed to Ivy Tech Community College – Bloomington before any funds are released to the student.
