If you graduate December, May, or August, you need to complete your application for graduation. The application for Graduation is available free of charge and can be obtained online or through your program advisor or through the Registrar’s Office.

Attention students: Don't miss your opportunity to celebrate your academic accomplishments by participating in the Annual
Commencement Ceremony for Ivy Tech Community College – Bloomington. If you have completed or will
be completing your graduation requirements in December 2007, May or August 2008, you are eligible to
take part in this momentous occasion. The event is scheduled Friday, May 16, 2008 at 6 p.m. at the
Indiana University Auditorium, East 7th Street, Bloomington.

If you have not already done so, you are encouraged to complete your Application for Graduation as soon
as possible. There is no charge to apply for graduation and you may apply online at:

Ordering Commencement Announcements For any student who has completed the Application for Graduation, a packet of information on ordering
Commencement announcements will be sent to you in the very near future. An announcement is a
wonderful way to let all of your friends and family know you have attained your current educational goal.
You will be able to order your announcements on-line and additional information will be available in the
packet you receive.
Commencement Information / Cap and Gown If you are planning to participate in the Commencement Ceremony, you need to attend a Commencement
Information Session. These sessions will be held on Tuesday, May 6 at 12 noon and 5 p.m. or Monday,
May 12, at 10 a.m.
Information covered during the information session will include directions/map to the IU Auditorium,
information on free parking, the time to arrive for the ceremony, where guests will be seated in the
Auditorium, having your name and degree announced, and receiving your diploma on stage. Additional
information will also be given.
On the information day you may purchase your cap, gown and tassel unit from the Balfour epresentative.
Each unit costs $20 (cash or money order only). If you are graduating with honors, you may exchange
your black tassel for an honors tassel in the Registrar's Office in A136 during regular business hours.
If you are unable to make a Commencement Information Session, caps and gowns will be available for
purchase from May 7 until 5 p.m. on May 15 in the Registrar's Office in A136 or prior to commencement
in the lobby of the IU Auditorium. Please bring correct amount as change will not be available.
The Ivy Tech Alumni Association is planning an event for Saturday, May 10, for graduates and
their families. Event details to follow soon!

More Information: The Associate of Science degree, the Associate of Applied Science degree, the Technical Certificate and
the Certificate are awarded by the College to students who meet graduation requirements. Graduation
ceremonies are held once a year. Graduating students may be charged a fee to cover the cost of the
ceremonial cap and gown.
A student is considered eligible for graduation when requirements for graduation have been fulfilled. Each
student entering the final semester prior to graduation must complete an application for graduation. The
application will be certified by the student's program advisor and forwarded to the Registrar's Office where
the appropriate diploma will be prepared.
Graduating students will participate in outcomes assessments. To graduate with An Associate of Science
degree, an Associate of Applied Science degree, a Technical Certificate, or a certificate, the student
must:
1. Attain a minimum grade point average of 2.00 in the required technical and general education
courses;
2. Earn 15 credits as a regular student of Ivy Tech rather than by test-out or other means of
advanced placement;
3. Successfully complete the required number of credits;
4. Satisfy all financial obligations due the College; and
5. Satisfy program accreditation standards that may have additional requirements.
