As a graduation requirement, students enrolled in Capstone courses must take the CAAP assessment.  The CAAP is an assessment of general education skills and will be used strictly for research purposes.  This year, students will be assessed in the areas of Critical Thinking and Science.  The following information details the procedure for completing this assessment.

  •  Please approach the CAAP with a positive attitude.  The data that is being collected will provide important information for the College to use for program development.  Your own results will be in the form of a Certificate that will look great in your portfolio, so please complete the assessment with serious effort.
  • Although the results of this assessment will not affect your grade for this class, it is a graduation requirement.
  • If you are taking a Capstone Internet course from another campus, please let your instructor know as soon as possible.  Please also indicate where you will be taking the assessment.
  • If you are taking a Capstone Internet course and take your exams in Bloomington, please call ahead to make arrangements at the Testing Center at 812-330-6137 or detest@bloomington.ivytech.edu.  Bloomington Testing Center is open Monday through Thursday from 9am-9pm and Friday from 9am-5pm.  Please bring a photo ID with you to room C234.
  • CAAP assessments are timed with a 40 minute limit for each one.  There will be two assessments taken.
  • Students will receive the results of the assessment in the mail.
  • Thank you for your cooperation and congratulations on your upcoming graduation!
