Distance Education and Make-Up Test Proctoring (Make-up proctoring Form)

The Testing Center provides Distance Education and Make-Up test proctoring for all Ivy Tech students free of charge.  We also provide test proctoring for students from other colleges or universities.  The fee to proctor is $45 per exam.  Please call or email to confirm your test has arrived. 

Testing Center Walk-in Hours*

Times are on a first come, first serve basis- Picture ID is required for all tests

Monday – Thursday…..9:00 a.m. – 9::00 p.m.
Friday ………………...9:00 a.m. – 5::00 p.m.
2nd Saturday………… .10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

All tests must be completed before closing time.  Testing Center will not extend hours.

In Between Semester Walk-in Hours:

Monday – Thursday…..9:00 a.m. – 6::00 p.m.
Friday ………………...9:00 a.m. – 5::00 p.m.

Test Proctoring Information-Non Bloomington Courses

If you are enrolled in a course that does not originate in Bloomington and need a test proctor please follow the steps below:

  • Inform your instructor where you would like to take the exam at the beginning of the semester. 
  • Click here to see the approved Ivy Tech locations.  If you do not see your test location, your instructor will need to approve your proctor.
  • Contact your test proctor site to be sure you know their testing hours, whether or not you need to make an appointment, any other requirement they may have, and to confirm your test has arrived. 
  • You will need to know who the proctor will be, mailing address, email, and fax number.
  • A picture ID will be required for all exams.
  • Do not wait until the last day to take your exam, in case there are problems or delays or early closings.

If you are taking a course at the Community Learning Center of Lawrence County and need to have your exams proctored there, please make sure to read and fill out the Test Proctoring Guidelines. If this form is not filled out and approved, you will not be able to take your tests there. Make sure to notify your instructor that you would like to request your test be taken in Bedford so that your test can be sent there. The Community Learning Center of Lawrence County is not open as many hours as the Bloomington Testing Center so plan ahead and schedule to take your exam accordingly. Test Proctoring Information-Bloomington Courses

  • See above for Bloomington Testing Center Hours.
  • Distance Ed and Make-Up tests are done on a walk-in basis.
  • A picture ID is required for ALL exams.
  • Do not wait until the last day to take your exam, in case there are problems, delays, or early closings.
  • Remember, Testing Center closes early on Fridays.
  • All tests must be completed before closing time.
  • Make sure you know who your instructor is, the course number, and what test you will be taking.
  • Confirm your test has arrived at the Testing Center by calling 812-330-6137 (toll free 866-447-0700) or Email detest@bloomington.ivytech.edu.
  • Expired tests will not be given.
  • If you need a deadline extension, contact your instructor.  Make sure your instructor notifies the Testing Center with the new deadline extension.  Again, no tests will be given without approval from the instructor.

Exam Day Rules

  • No cell phones, electronic devices, purses, backpacks, etc. are allowed in the test room. 
  • No food or drink is allowed in the test room.
  • Picture ID is required for all tests with every visit.
  • Please do not bring valuables to the Testing Center.  Testing Center is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.  There are lockers for your convenience.
  • Children are not permitted to wait in the Testing Center.  Please make child care arrangements ahead of time.
  • Please know your course number, exam name/number, and instructor’s name.  We have many exams housed in the Testing Center and some courses have several different instructors.
  • The Testing Center attempts within reason to ensure a quiet and comfortable testing environment for everyone.  Ear plugs are available to help block noise distractions.  For your testing comfort, you may want to bring layers of clothing to adjust to the climate in the Testing Center. 
  • For your safety and security, the Test Center is monitored and recorded by video surveillance systems.
