Manufacturing Readiness Certificate Updated 12.21.07

The MRC is a three-day introduction to the world of life-science manufacturing. Designed for people with little or no manufacturing experience, or those who have recently entered the field of life-science manufacturing, MRC covers the basics of quality systems guided by good practices and the regulations of federal agencies.

Topics include:

Relevant Regulations of OSHA, EPA and FDA
An Overview of Process Management and Quality Systems
An Introduction to LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma Principles
The Importance of Good Manufacturing Practices & Good Documentation Practices
The Overriding Necessity of Attention to Detail

Day Three of the program is a comprehensive simulation involving the application of concepts and tools from Day One and Day Two. Students design and implement a manufacturing process that takes raw materials through a quality driven process and produces a product that meets their customer’s specifications.
