Management & Supervisory Institute Updated 12.06.07
Ivy Tech Community College is rolling a new offering of the Management & Supervisory Institute (MSI). This comprehensive training program has provided life-changing experiences for new and seasoned supervisors, as well as those in line for future management-level positions.

This interactive program teaches skills necessary to increase confidence and professionalism in interactions with subordinates, peers and superiors. Planning, delegating and decision-making skills are of the utmost importance to productive and successful managers, but the ability to effectively communicate and handle conflict are also important. In addition to these topics, MSI includes coaching and delivering work instructions that succeed in getting the message across to trainees. It also helps participants understand the importance of using good spelling, punctuation, and grammar in written communication to all audiences.

Quality and lean principles are addressed, and participants get a clearer picture of their individual role in the business. Additionally, we provide basic financial information which goes one step further in helping supervisors understand the big picture that ties together high-level management decisions as they impact customer service, quality, and the bottom line.

This affordable and accelerated 105-hour cohort-based program starts May 3, 2007 and registrations will be accepted until May 1st. Day and evening classes are available! The accelerated option is available for students and employers who need supervisors to come up to speed quickly. It builds in many opportunities for reinforced learning, which takes the participant from a new skill “awareness level” to a “practice level.”

The discounted cost is $2,255, and is an approved program under the G.I. bill, for veterans who qualify. Ivy Tech has worked diligently to recruit high-quality instructors, secure meaningful materials, provide engaging and interactive training, and keep the cost well below that of our competitors. We invite you to compare both quality and cost! Discounts may be available for companies that send three or more employees to the same cohort program, if the minimum level of 8 participants is met.

Register immediately to secure your place in this exciting program, new to the Bloomington area!
